Bedford Dance Academy

 

Vicky Foeller has been a staff member at Bedford Dance Academy for 12 years. She has taught and choreographed extensively throughout the Toledo area for over three decades. Her credits include Daryl Jervis South Dance Studio, Bedford and Washington Local Community Ed programs, Studio A, Oregon Ballet School, Toledo Gymnastics Club, MiniMotions Dance Studio, America’s Pride teen dance team, Toledo Hospital’s Health Aware program, as well as many other local groups and individuals. Her primary dance training was with Richard Helldobler of Toledo Ballet, Hanna Hauser, and Gail Grant. She has performed with the Toledo Opera, the German American Festival, Toledo Ballet, International Festival, Toledo Zoo, International Ballet Company of Toledo, at charity benefits, concerts, recitals, and numerous other venues.

My name is Alissa Geiger and I am 18 years. I am also a gradate of Bedford Senior High School. This is my 16th year of dance at the Bedford Dance Academy. I have done the Nutcracker Ballet for 9 years, competition for 8 years, substitute teaching for 4 or 5 years, and teaching for 3 years. I have studied tap, jazz, ballet, lyrical, modern, contemporary, musical theatre, hip hop, pointe, irish, character, ballroom and tumbling. I teach the Intermediate Jazz 1 and Intermediate Ballet 1, along with private lessons.  Dance is my one and only passion. I enjoy helping others pursue their interest in dance. Outside of school and dance I am a tutor. My passion for dance coupled with tutoring experience leaves me well-equipped as a dance teacher.

Mandi is a senior dance major at Bowling Green State University, where she is very involved in the University’s dance program from performing to choreographing pieces. She started dance was she was five years old at Karsha’s All That Jazz Dance Academy in Sandusky Ohio, where she stayed until  leaving for college. Over the years Mandi has been trained in jazz, lyrical, modern, hip-hop, tap, ballet, point and also musical theater. During her time at All That Jazz she competed on the competition team where she won many awards, overall awards, and scholarships.

 

Victor began dancing at the age of seven with tap and jazz. He started break dancing, popping and locking in his teenage years. He  was given the opportunity to show his skills with his dance group “The Electric Pop Lockers” against the world famous “New York City Breakers” and “ The Rock Steady Crew” from the breakdance movie “Beatstreet”.


While living in Puerto Rico he became involved in Latin Dance and Ballroom Dance. He taught Hip Hop and Ballroom dance at The Toledo Ballet.
He has danced the Nutcracker Ballet’s for Toledo Ballet and Bedford Dance Academy LLC.

Melissa is a recent graduate from The University of Akron with a B.A. in English and a minor in dance.  Melissa has previously studied at D&D Dance Studio in Toledo and at Class Act Dance Studio in Clyde where she was a competition dancer for four years.  She has also performed in Orlando Florida for Disney’s Magic Music Days.  Melissa has had previous training in practically every style of dance: ballet, jazz/Broadway, tap, contemporary, modern, hip hop, and Ballroom.  Also she has been in over 15 musicals such as: “Annie,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “Bye Bye Birdie,” “Les Miserables,” “Jekyll and Hyde,” “Grease,” “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat,” and “The Wizard of Oz.”  Melissa was an apprentice dancer for RED real.edge.dance Company in Akron and has previously taught at Dianna Durkin Dance Studio.  This is Melissa’s first year at Bedford Dance Academy.

 

Jamie Geiger is 16 years old and a junior at Bedford High School. She has been dancing at the Bedford Dance Academy since the age of two and a half. Throughout her years of experience, she has participated in numerous productions of the Nutcracker Ballet along with being involved with the competitive team here at the studio. During her dancing career, she has taken dance in styles of all sorts including Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Pointe, Hip Hop, Modern, Irish Step, and more. Aside from dance, Jamie is very involved throughout school as well. She takes part in tutoring after school, yearbook, Student Council, and the Principals Advisory Committee. Before becoming a teacher, Jamie was an assistant for many years. With her dancing and assisting experience, Jamie is well fit for the position of teaching dance.
